Nala is safe now, staying with her “roommates” who were rescued from the same horrific apartment.

She is very sweet, but the life she once knew has left her insecure and fearful. She still watches people cautiously and needs time to understand that no one is going to hurt her anymore.

She feels safest with Dondo. Their bond reminds us how much it means to animals to have someone familiar beside them while their entire world is changing. It would be wonderful if they could find a home together and continue giving each other a sense of security, but adopting them as a pair is not a requirement.

Nala will not immediately run into someone’s arms. Her trust will come quietly: by remaining in the same room, through a slightly more relaxed expression, and with every new step that may seem small to someone else.

She is looking for a home where she will not be expected to be brave before she is ready. All she needs is peace, time, and someone who will stay long enough to prove that safety is no longer only temporary.
